Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 26, 2026
OpenClinTech ("we", "us") provides video-first training for clinician-engineers and health tech teams. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and any profile details you choose to add. We receive a stable user identifier from Clerk to associate your activity with your account.
- Learning activity. Course enrollments, lesson progress (which lessons you visit and complete), and quiz attempts are stored in our database to power your dashboard and progress tracking.
- Subscription and billing. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our billing provider (Clerk Billing). We do not store full credit card numbers; we receive only the subscription status and metadata needed to grant access.
- Usage and device data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) are collected for security and reliability. Vercel Analytics may collect aggregated, anonymized usage statistics.
How we use it
- To provide and improve the learning platform.
- To track your progress and personalize your dashboard (e.g., the "Continue learning" deep link).
- To process subscriptions and provide customer support.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To send transactional messages related to your account (e.g., subscription receipts, security notices). We will not send marketing email without your opt-in.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the service. We share only the data necessary for them to perform their function:
- Clerk — authentication and subscription billing
- Neon — managed Postgres database hosting
- Vercel — application hosting and analytics
- YouTube— embedded video playback (subject to Google's privacy policy)
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us. Deleting your Clerk account cascades to remove your enrollment and progress records from our database.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for sign-in (set by Clerk) and for session continuity. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Children
OpenClinTech is intended for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
