FHIR® Shorthand (FSH)
FreeAn introductory course that covers the essentials of FHIR® Shorthand (FSH) and SUSHI for building FHIR® Implementation Guides (IGs).
About this course
Who it's for
Clinicians, informaticists and developers who need to write or maintain an HL7® FHIR® Implementation Guide (IG) and would rather author it in FHIR® Shorthand (FSH) than hand-edit JSON or XML.
What you'll learn
- What FSH is, and how it describes FHIR® profiles, extensions and examples as plain text
- Constraining a resource with cardinality rules
- Creating example instances that conform to your profiles
- Working with terminology in FSH: code systems, value sets and bindings
- Writing the narrative pages of an IG
- Compiling FSH with SUSHI and building the guide with the IG Publisher
- Publishing the finished IG on GitHub Pages
Short on time? Chapter 4 is a single quick-start video that walks through the whole workflow.
